Having at least one of these ingredients in your lotion will give you significantly more moisturized skin!

Glycerin:
Glycerin pulls water from the atmosphere into your skin, making it a humectant. Using a body lotion with glycerin helps legs, arms and hands retain necessary moisture. It is fairly rich making it preferable for body products. Glycerin is good for all skin types.

Tip: Try Cocoa & Shea Hand and Body Lotion (93% Organic Ingredients) or Shea Butter Rich Hand & Body Cream, both with effective glycerin for soft and moisturized skin!

Hyaluronic acid:
Hyaluronic acid occurs naturally in skin and can hold up to 1000 times its weight in water! Yes, 1000 times! Having Hyaluronic acid in your day and night creams considerably boosts moisturization.

Tip: Try Botanical Night Repair with Resveratrol & Royal Jelly, Botanical Oil-Free Moisturizer and Botanical Facial Moisturizer all with moisture boosting Hyaluronic!

Ceramides:
Our skin's natural lipid structure is made of Ceramides; basically put, they're the fat that traps water beneath skin's surface. Without Ceramides your skin cells wither. (Interesting note - Ceramide deficiency even contributes to eczema, says Dermatologist David Horne). Boost those Ceramides and boost critical hydration!

Tip: Try Dingo's Triple Ceramide Serum to moisturize and fight the signs of aging!

Glow For It!

OilC
Should You Swap Your Moisturizer For A Skin Oil? Glow For It!

Want clearer, smoother skin? Facial oil might be your best bet. The misconception that oils make you breakout comes from the fact that not all oils are created equal. Inexpensive mineral oils and lanolins are comedogenic and can clog delicate pores, but high-quality oils like Argan, Hazelnut, Evening Primrose, Macadamia, Jojoba & Olive Squalane are non-comedogenic and can help draw excess sebum (oils) from pores. They are also great emollients and can repair skin barrier function.

We love botanical facial oils because they're very high in vitamins and antioxidants and can help prevent the formation of lines and wrinkles. They also have SKin Oilanti-inflammatory properties that soothe the skin. Moroccan Argan, Evening Primrose, Sweet Almond, Carrot Seed, Vitamin E and Rosehip are among a variety of oils that penetrate into the skin faster than a moisturizing cream and give a healthy, natural glow.

The Vitamin E and other antioxidants in many facial oils neutralize free r adicals created from UV rays (it's no wonder Mediterranean beauties have used oils as a moisturizer and wrinkle-smoother for centuries!).

A great solution to the moisturizer/facial oil question is to add a drop or two of  facial oil to your moisturizer routine. You'll be surprised at the difference just two drops can make. Applied daily over your moisturizer, oil gives you face the healthy glow we all strive for.

Try a facial oil today and you will be surprised by the difference it can make in your soft, supple and glowing skin!

4 Simple Steps to Springtime Skin
Winter takes its toll on us all.

Make spring a time of renewal and rebirth for your skin, too!

While we may be singing the praises of springtime, our skin may be singing the wintertime blues. Dry, rough heels and knees, stressed and undernourished skin on face and body; nothing is worse than low humidity combined with harsh weather and central heat to leave your skin looking dry, rough and wrinkled.

As the seasons change so do the needs of your skin.  By taking just a few easy steps we can dive into Spring ready to go and fully charged.

1.   SHED YOUR WINTER SKIN

Skin renewal slows down during winter as the body conserves energy. The reduction in cell renewal can give the skin tone a rough, dull look.  Exfoliation brings skin back to life.  Alpha or Beta hydroxy acids dissolve old cells making way for the new cells beneath.  Try a cleanser such as Dingo's Deep Refining Face Wash with hyaluronic acid, AHA and BHA acids, and last but not least, organic lactic acid.  This potent one-two punch will rid skin of tired cells and let your true radiance shine through!

2.   LIGHTEN UP

As the weather heats up your skin's requirements change.  Winter skin needs moisture-rich creams for environmental protection.  The warmer the weather, the less necessity for heavy creams, and a lighter moisturizer is preferred. Continuing to use a heavier cream can trigger dreaded break-outs.

A wonderful all-purpose moisturizer such as Dingo's Botanical Facial Moisture can be just the trick for springtime skin.  If oily skin is a concern, an oil-free moisturizer is your best bet.  Dingo's Botanical Oil-Free Moisture with Hyaluronic acid and vitamin B5 is perfect for keeping oily skin hydrated and healthy.

3.    ELIMINATE SKIN POLLUTANTS

Dull skin cannot be chalked up to just a lack of sunlight during winter months.  Cold weather can constrict blood vessels causing sluggish circulation.  Stimulating blood flow increases skin's oxygenation helping to eliminate inflammation-producing toxins.  Regular facial massage for just a few minutes a day can work wonders towards restoring healthy radiance and reducing puffiness.

Using your middle and index fingers firmly massage skin in small circles. Starting at the chin and moving towards the forehead, always working upwards and outwards.  Try this while you cleanse in the morning or when applying moisturizer at night.  Use a little extra and massage into skin tissuing off the excess.  A facial oil is also wonderful for facial massage.  Dingo's Wrinkle Defense Serum or 100% Pure Argan oil are both perfect for this use. Massage face three minutes twice a day if possible.

4.    DISCARD SUGAR AND STARCHES

Winter is all about comfort foods. From Thanksgiving to Christmas to New Year's Eve, starchy and sugar-laden foods help boost our brain's serotonin levels, helping us shake off the winter blues.  Then comes Spring and a time for transformation!

Encourage the transformation by dropping the comfort foods and reaching for vitamin rich greens to boost the skin's collagen.  Antioxidant-rich berries are a tasty treat, and Omega-3 fats in fish, such as salmon and sardines, actually hydrate your skin from the inside out!  Miso and seaweed are full of enzymes to brighten both your mood and skin.

Indulge Yourself!

Indulge your skin with healing plants and minerals!

1. Draw a warm bath adding a Dancing Dingo Aromatic Massage Oil to the running water. Use Rosemary & Lavender oil to relax, Geranium & Orange to stimulate your senses, or Ginger & Juniper for deep, warming relaxation. Listen to a favorite CD, light a softly scented candle, and soak your cares away.
2. When thoroughly relaxed and out of the tub, add a few drops of Massage Oil to damp skin and smooth on for added aromatherapy benefits and soft skin.
3. Pull your hair back with a headband while you concentrate next on your face.
4. Splash face with warm water and pat dry.
5. Apply a facial mask specifically formulated for your skin’s needs. A wonderful idea is to use a nourishing scrub, such as Dancing Dingo's Bamboo & Green Tea Scrub, leaving a layer on your face for ten to twenty minutes then rinse off thoroughly.  While waiting listen to music, read a magazine, or just close your eyes and relax.
6. Wash lightly with Botanical Face Wash, then apply skin-rescuing toner and a nourishing moisturizer designed for your skin type. Dancing Dingo has several hydrating toners and wonderfully replenishing moisturizers to compliment your skin type.
7. Apply a moisturizing cream to your hands, and gently push back cuticles (never cut your cuticles). Dingo’s Shea Butter Hand Cream, lightly scented with pure essential oil, is perfect for the job!
8. Apply an extremely moisturizing cream to your feet, and slip into a pair of cozy socks. Dingo’s Shea Butter Rich Foot Cream provides your feet with protective moisture and healing essential oils.
9. When you’re ready for bed, spray your pillows with French Lavender & Chamomile Linen Mist to relieve stress and induce sleep.
10. Dream wonderful dreams!

Why Is Facial Exfoliation So Important?

Your skin continually produces new skin cells at its lower layer, the dermis. The dermis then sends these new cells to the surface layer, the epidermis. Eventually these cells die and become filled with keratin, performing the very important function of protecting our skin from a variety of environmental stressors. Eventually these cells are sloughed away making way for younger cells.

Yet as we age this process slows creating issues for our skin; the cells collect and build disproportionately across the skin’s surface giving us a dry, dull and uneven look. Exfoliation is an important skin care step to remove the old cells, allowing your skin to reveal younger, brighter new cells underneath. Skin appears fresh, dewy, and clean. Exfoliation also allows products, such as serums and moisturizers, to better penetrate the skin and do their job.

What you should know when it comes to exfoliation:
  • Never over exfoliate the delicate skin of your face. This may cause drying, redness and irritation.
  • Always read the instructions on the product, or talk to a good esthetician about the frequency that is best for your skin.
  • Never, ever, use a body scrub on your face. They can be harsh and abrasive, unsuitable for the delicate skin of your face.
Summary:
  • As we age exfoliation becomes an important part of our skincare regime to maintain a glowing, radiant look.
  • Use exfoliants gently, never rubbing to hard or tugging on skin. A light, circular motion with fingertips is best.
  • Do not use an exfoliant more often than recommended, if skin becomes dry, red or irritated.
  • Apply your favorite facial serum and moisture after exfoliating, allowing for maximum penetration into the skin.
Dancing Dingo offers Bamboo and Green Tea Scrub for facial skincare. The gentle scrub effectively removes the dull surface cells while protecting and moisturizing your skin. It is a good choice for mature as well as for problematic skin. Bamboo powder is naturally rich in silica, an essential element known for its re-mineralizing (cartilage), anti-acne, anti-wrinkles and anti-cellulite activity. Green Tea extract soothes and protects with powerful anti-oxidants.

Botanical Facial Moisturizer (with natural Resveratrol & Hyaluronic Acid

The best nature has to offer, formulated to address the issues of dry and mature skin. Our new Botanical Facial Moisturizer is luxurious, smooth and silky, and absorbs readily into skin with no oily after-feel. Leaves skin feeling smooth, supple and hydrated with a healthy radiant look. Perfect for day or night treatment, worn under makeup or alone. Ideal over one of our Botanical Facial Oil Treatments.

Two highly effective ingredients:

Resveratrol (Japanese Knotweed grape skin extract) is one of the latest powerhouse extracts brought to us by nature. An anti-oxidant that is unparalleled in protection from free radical damage to the skin, with an estimated 17 times more activity than synthetic and natural forms of CoQ10.

Hyaluronic Acid is one of the most effective moisturizing agents ever discovered, helping to preserve the principal characteristics of young, healthy skin, such as smoothness, elasticity and tone. It works not only as a moisturizer, but also seems to speed the rejuvenation of damaged skin cells. There are very few ingredients that hold as much promise as Hyaluronic acid.

How it works:

  • Resveratrol offers advanced protection from the constant assault of free radical damage
  • Hyaluronic Acid provides superior moisturization, forming a barrier to naturally hold water in the inter-cellular matrix of the skin
  • Extracts of Gingko Biloba, Green Tea and Gotu Kola protect and firm
  • Panthenol and Comfrey Root provide beneficial anti-inflammatory activity
  • Extracts of Billberry, Sugar, Bitter Orange and Lemon offer smoothness and refine pores

Highlight of ingredients:
extracts of Gotu Kola, Ginkgo Biloba, Green Tea, Aspen Bark, Sugar Cane, Orange Fruit, Lemon, Sugar Maple and Bilberry, Pro-Vitamin B5, Avocado Oil, Macadamia Nut Oil, Hyaluronic Acid, Resveratrol, Comfrey root, Kukui Nut oil, Black Currant seed oil, Borage seed oil, Red Raspberry seed oil; essential oils of: Lavender, Cape Chamomile, Patchouli, Australian Sandalwood, and Neroli
